Why a leased line

When downtime isn't an option, a dedicated line gives you certainty.

Broadband is shared with other users, so speeds can dip at busy times, and uploads are much slower than downloads. A leased line is a private fibre connection for your business alone: the speed you pay for is the speed you get, in both directions, all day.

If something does go wrong, your SLA includes a 4-hour fix time, and you report the fault to our team, not a call centre.

Installation & set-up

Most leased lines take around 60 days to install.

A leased line means new fibre run into your building, so there's more to arrange than with broadband: surveys, any works needed to bring the fibre in, and the installation itself. We plan and track the whole process for you, and keep you updated until you're live.

There's usually no installation charge, although it depends on your property. If your building needs extra work, we'll talk you through it.

Questions

Leased line questions

Can't see your question? Call us on 01572 770077.

What is a leased line?

A private fibre connection between your premises and the internet, used only by your business. Because it isn't shared, you get the full speed you pay for, in both directions, at any time of day.

How much does a leased line cost?

Prices start at £150 a month + VAT, usually on a 36-month contract. The exact price depends on the speed you choose and where you are, so we'll quote for your address.

What speeds are available?

100 Mbps, 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps. Every speed is symmetrical, so uploads are as fast as downloads.

How long does installation take?

Usually around 60 days from your order. New fibre has to be brought into your building, which takes longer to arrange than a broadband install.

Is there an installation charge?

Usually not, but it depends on your property. If extra work is needed to bring the fibre in, we'll explain what's involved.

What happens if the line goes down?

Your SLA includes a 4-hour fix time. Call our team and we'll take ownership of the fault and keep you updated until it's fixed.

Which areas do you cover?

Anywhere in the UK. We're based in Oakham, Rutland, and supply leased lines to businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire, Stamford, Peterborough and Corby, as well as further afield.

Should we choose a leased line or full fibre?

Full fibre is fast and good value, but it's shared, and uploads are slower than downloads. A leased line is yours alone, symmetrical and backed by a 4-hour fix time, so it suits businesses that can't afford slowdowns or downtime. Not sure which you need?
