Hardware recycling and disposal
Millennium will collect and process all obsolete, defective or unwanted hardware in accordance with the UK’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Directive (WEE).
- Unavoidably, there comes a time when any piece of computer equipment has outlived its usefulness. Businesses experiencing a transition due to moving or expanding are likely to dig up some computer relics. Disposing of these items in a lawful, secure, and responsible manner can be a challenge.
- PCs and monitors contain lead, mercury, cadmium and other metals deemed hazardous under UK and European Laws that regulate their disposal. In an effort to ensure that the electronics gear doesn't end up in landfills, legislators have introduced IT recycling legislation.
- Data destruction - data is stored on a computer hard drive as files. The computer also creates an index of files stored on a hard drive. When you delete a file, the links between the index and the file disappear. However, the bits and pieces of the deleted file remain on the hard drive until they are overwritten by other data. As a result, this data that remains can be retrieved with data recovery programs. Therefore to permanently delete data from a hard drive, deleting a file is not sufficient. To truly delete data, the hard drive must be either wiped clean or destroyed.
Price - £10 + vat per unit including data destruction
